4th & 5th Grade Team at Mountview Vacation Bible School

LESSON: CROWN OF LIFE

A group of 22 students in 4th and 5th grade. In a word this lesson was focused on teaching perseverance.

Team Building Event with Grant Family Medicine Residency

A total of 20 first- and second-year medical residents from Ohio Health's Grant Family Medicine Residency played Eureka Games to improve communication and build rapport.

Team Effectiveness with Brokerage Managers from Insurance Intermediaries Inc.

Team Building event with Nationwide Children's Hospital

A group of project managers from Nationwide Children's Hospital invited Eureka Games to play. It turns out they are all Super Heroes. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun.

We were invited to play Eureka Games at the Chicago State University Upward Bound Program Annual Leadership Conference 2014, and it was a blast!

Energizer with YP Presidents' Council - April 2014

The Young Professional Presidents' Council meeting invited the Eureka Games to play a game that challenged players to think about diversity and seeing things from another point of view. 

We visited the tinker toy buffet and did a few rounds of "What Goes Where?" Then we discussed how although we are all the same, are also all different. Thanks to Mary Connolly and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for hosting.

Team Effectiveness Event with Mountview Christian Preschool Staff

The staff played Eureka Games at the Spring 2014 in-service.

We realized that we all had super powers after the Super Hero Name Game.

Team Effectiveness with Insurance Intermediaries Inc. - Midwest Team

45-minute session focused on Team Effectiveness.

We played "This or That?" to get to know one another a little better.

Then we discussed the four temperaments in a format based on well known animals, the otter, lion, golden retriever, and beaver as described by Gary Smalley

Then the group was challenged to tell a story using the pages from "Harold and the Purple Crayon"

YP Presidents' Council Meeting - February 2014

The Young Professional Presidents' Council meeting invited the Eureka Games to play a game that challenged players to be active and to think outside the box.

Team Building with Sales and Marketing from Elmer's Inc.

The Field Sales Team and Marketing Team of Elmer's Inc. came together for a off-site meeting at Sparkspace. The Eureka Games was invited to facilitate an experience to kick-off the week with energizers and activities that challenged them to rethink the way they think.

We had an awesome opportunity to lead breakout sessions at Ohio's Annual Statewide Education Conference.

A total of 24 first- and second-year medical Residents from Grant Family Medicine Residency played Eureka Games to improve communication and discuss conflict management skills.

Team Building Event with Columbus Downtown High School Students

I was blessed by the power of weak ties once again.

This past November I participated in the Governor's Road to Readiness program, which paired up high school students and IT professionals for a few hours of shadowing.

Several bright students from Columbus Downtown High School visited Nationwide Insurance, which is my day job. During the group luncheon the students swapped stories and I met the student advisor.

Faith Building Event with Mountview Church - Cleverley Group

Mountview Church has been an amazing place to grow my faith. This past week I was asked to fill in as the teacher for our home study group, I brought Eureka Games.



The metaphor of sheep and a shepherd are used throughout the Bible to describe the role of the Christian disciple. Other scriptures instruct Christians to live their life as an example to all. The obligation to fulfill both roles can be difficult.

To illustrate the lesson, the group played Blind Polygon. Half the group members were dubbed coaches. The other half of group members were dubbed players, and were muted or blindfolded. The coaches (at the left), had a hard time accepting that the furniture was not part of the challenge.

After the game, we discussed their roles of a leader and a follower and how both sides carried benefits and burdens. The parallel to the life of a Christian was brought to the forefront and we discussed the how following Christ and leading others holds similar dynamics.
